Lisa Sorin serves as President of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, making history as the first woman to lead the organization. A distinguished trailblazer in leadership, she previously served as the Chamber’s first female Board Chairperson and was an active member of its Executive Board prior to her appointment as President.
An engaged and influential civic leader, Lisa holds positions on several key boards and commissions, including the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), an appointment by the Governor, the NYC Small Business Advisory Commission (SBAC), the NYC Retail Theft Committee, the NYC Workforce Development Committee, and the Secure Choice Savings Commission. She also serves as Chair of the Bally’s Bronx Community Advisory Committee, an appointment by Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, as well as on the Board of Directors for the Chamber Alliance of New York State (CANYS), and co-chairs the Bronx Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). Additionally, she plays a critical role in regional economic development as a member of the NYC Regional Economic Development Council.
Lisa’s passion for youth empowerment and the arts is evident throughout her career. She founded the Bronx Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s History Month Scholarship Program, which awards scholarships to young women attending Bronx high schools. She is also an active board member with Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education and the Bronx Council on the Arts—organizations that align with her commitment to nurturing arts, culture, and youth programming.
Prior to leading the Chamber, Lisa served as Executive Director of the Westchester Square Business Improvement District (BID) for six years, where she spearheaded initiatives in community development, small business growth, public art, and neighborhood beautification. During her tenure, she worked closely with city agencies and local stakeholders to help establish two additional Business Improvement Districts in the Bronx.
Lisa is also the founder and former operator of LAS Consulting Services, Inc., through which she provided marketing, public relations, and event planning services to nonprofit organizations and corporate clients for over 15 years.
Her leadership and service have earned her numerous accolades, including recognition by the CORO Neighborhood Leadership Program and being named one of the Bronx Times Reporter’s "25 Most Influential Women of the Bronx."
Lisa holds a Master’s Degree in Business Leadership and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Concordia College. Above all, she remains deeply committed to empowering the next generation, leading by example for her two daughters and demonstrating the enduring values of integrity, community investment, and hard work in every endeavor.
