    On behalf of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce and Senator Jeff Klein, we want to thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the Bronx H.I.R.E: Opening Doors program. This initiative was created to develop the best workforce the Bronx has to offer.


    The H.I.R.E. program consists of two distinct parts. The first part, Bronx H.I.R.E will focus on job fairs, which are designed to allow employers to inform Bronxites about available jobs and how they can apply. We will notify you when and where we have those job fairs as we want to help provide a vehicle to help staff your business.


    The more unique part of the program, however, is the Opening Doors portion.  This program will accept candidates from the Bronx who are willing to go through aptitude testing, participate in resume writing classes, attend interview skill workshops, and receive other workforce development assistance.  In return, we will subsidize the costs incurred by these employees for the certifications and trainings, which they need to succeed at securing a job. 
     

    This is where you come in! It is our hope that employers who are interested in becoming part of this program will work with us to place these employees. The only commitments we are asking for is:
     

    ·         Access to your Human Resources team in order to determine the type of  employee required as well as the type of skills that make an applicant shine
     

    ·         The ability to follow up with your Human Resources Department when an Opening Doors applicant interviews so we can see what they have done wrong or right in order to make sure they eventually get placed in a  job.
     

    ·         That when jobs become available in the Bronx, that you call the Bronx Chamber of Commerce so we can quickly determine if one of our Opening Doors applicants is a perfect fit.
