What is The Bronx Chamber of Commerce?

The Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business in The Bronx, aggressively promoting measures and issues that are in the interests of doing business in the city and working against anything impairing or threatening the vitality of The Bronx businesses.

At every turn, the Chamber advocates and initiates programs designed to enhance the image of The Bronx and stimulate the marketing of  Bronx-based products and services. The Chamber actively "partners" with various government entities and business organizations to form a powerful network extending into every segment of business society.

Other Chamber Services

  • Hosting of educational and informational programs to assist members with business growth
  • Counseling and guidance for new business or expanding business ventures
  • Generating Certificates of Origin for firms shipping goods outside the United States (especially valuable with global trade now conducted over the Internet)
  • Maintenance of research tools, such as source and historic and reference libraries
  • Providing interns under a wide array of educational partnerships

Women In Business Committee

Formed many years ago in recognition of women as leaders in business and of problems unique to women in the work force, this group has grown to influence all the Chamber does and to provide assistance in all areas of business life.

Each March, the Women In Business Committee hosts the heavily-attended Chamber's Women Of Excellence luncheon, keynoted by leading business, government and media figures and honoring outstanding women related to the community.

 


What do I receive when I join?

 

Networking Opportunities

Each month, the Chamber conducts a networking events, welcome aboard membership meetings, and business card exchanges. These meetings are regularly addressed by - and offer unique access to - a wide array of business leaders and key public officials.

Several times during the year, the Chamber holds All-Networking events with no other business than members "doing business," plus social events such as the regular Golf/Tennis outing  and Annual Dinner.

Communication

Chamber Membership includes a subscription to the monthly newsletter, plus an alphabetical and categorical business listing both in the Annual Membership Directory & Buyer's Guide and on this Web Site; the latter is supported by both a search engine function (by name and word) and a tree search (by general business type).

For a small fee per year, members may receive a "live link" from this Site to their e-mail or Web address, with the address appearing both on the "Membership Directory" and "Live Link" pages.

Members may also have the Chamber create a basic informational Web presence, including one page of text with one graphic (logo or photo) for a set-up charge and small monthly payment.

Bid Alert

On a regular basis, the Chamber generates "Bid Alerts" outlining goods and services for which the Bronx that may be seeking Requests For Proposal.
